Executive and transformational life coach

Who am I?
I’m Julie, an executive coach and mentor with over 25 years of experience in leading organisational change and culture programs. As a skilled interpersonal and transition coach, I’m a straight-talking human who believes deeply in people’s ability to adapt, change and transform their thinking, actions and behaviours when they’re properly supported.

Why people work with me?

I'm:

  • CMI Level 7 qualified in Executive Coaching & Mentoring
  • 20 years of transformational, interpersonal and transition life coaching
  • A member of the Association of Coaches
  • Fully quality assured
  • But more than qualifications, I bring a wealth of experience both in life and work

I’ve worked with people and organisations through real change – not just talking about it but living it too. I understand power, vulnerability, pressure, and the quiet moments where big decisions are made.

Please get in touch if you’re looking for:

  • Calm when there is chaos
  • Clarity when there is overwhelm
  • Structure when everything feels tangled
  • Backbone when decisions are being avoided
  • Focus where there is pressure

I have a strategic and operational brain. I can see the bigger picture, along with the route to get there. Where others freeze, I plan. Where others panic, I slow things down.

There’s no judgement, diagnosis, or rescuing. Coaching is a partnership built around helping you understand your options, strengthening your thinking, and taking purposeful steps forward. Sometimes a shift in perspective is all that’s needed to unlock a new direction!

A bit of backstory
I believe deeply in people’s ability to face up to change and their ability to navigate challenges when they’re properly supported.

My own experience of life brought brutal lessons: domestic abuse, single parenthood, betrayal, coercive control, grief & loss, and starting again… more than once. I learned, very quickly, that no one was coming to save me.

What I did learn was how to slow down when everything was on fire, evaluate my options, and make decisions that protected my children, my integrity and my future.

The ability to create calm, see choices clearly, and decide is one of the core things I now offer others.

Professionally, I’ve worked with people most others won’t – or can’t. I’ve coached and supported those that society feels are not worthy, those with violent pasts, people who have killed, people who have destroyed their own lives and others’.

As a coach, I have worked with people from all walks of life: business and third sector leaders, CEOs, executives, entrepreneurs, sporting professionals, and veterans. Privacy and confidentiality is key to my work, so I offer a discreet and highly confidential service.

Life has an uncanny and unpredictable way of throwing you into something that feels like a tumble wash!

As in interpersonal and transition coach I have worked with those who feel trapped in a dilemma, sitting with a decision that feels so hard to make. This might be how to gain a better home and work life balance, as men and women may face the same challenges but experience and process these in a different way.

I have coached individuals who might want to save a relationship, who are navigating grief and loss, mid-life dilemmas and shifts in identity. As we grow, emotions and feelings can change. They might shock and puzzle you, and sharing these thoughts and feelings might seem impossible from fear of judgement, shame, the conversations you simply don’t feel ready to have with those you love, or the conversations you could never have! One thing I’ve learnt is that there’s always a road map out of any messy middle.

Very little shocks me. Humans have the most amazing ability to navigate change and to overcome challenge if the right conditions are created for them.

One key thing I understand is: people are rarely what they think they are. Behaviour almost always makes sense once you understand the need underneath it.

My role is not to judge – it’s to help you understand why, see clearly, and decide what happens next.

Pro athlete

As an athlete, it’s easy to become so focused on performance that other important aspects of life are pushed to the background. Working with The Marriott Practice helped me recognise the importance of developing myself as a whole person, not just as an athlete. Through coaching, I learned practical ways to address challenges as they arose rather than ignoring them, giving me a deeper understanding of myself and greater confidence in navigating both sport and life. The impact has extended far beyond my athletic career, positively influencing my wellbeing, relationships, and future direction.

Business Owner

After 20 years in business, I still have moments where I completely doubt myself. I spent just one hour with Julie at The Marriott Practice, and it made a lasting difference. She listened without judgement, asked thoughtful questions that helped me cut through the mental noise, and made my work-life balance suddenly feel much clearer. I left with practical actions, renewed confidence and a belief in myself that has stayed with me throughout the year.

NHS Professional & Mum

I came to coaching because I no longer recognised myself. Perimenopause had left me feeling angry, exhausted and disconnected from everything that once made me happy. My marriage was struggling, I couldn't cope with work or family life, and I'd begun drinking every evening just to get through the day. Julie helped me slow down and understand what was happening, without judgement. Together, we focused on small, achievable changes that gradually became life-changing habits. Coaching helped save my marriage, my family and my wellbeing.

Manufacturing Sector

Julie created a safe, supportive space while also keeping me accountable. Every session ended with clear actions that helped me move forward step by step. The structured approach suited me and stopped me feeling overwhelmed by everything that had happened in my life. I genuinely believe coaching prevented me from going down a very destructive path. It helped me manage my emotions, protect my career and rebuild my confidence.

Finance Sector

Before coaching, work had completely taken over my life. I was constantly working, had little time for myself or my son, and felt as though I was slowly losing control. I had forgotten that I was more than just my job. Julie helped me learn to set healthier boundaries, approach problems differently, and make time for the people who mattered most. I became a better father, rebuilt friendships I'd neglected, and even improved communication with my ex-wife.

Veteran

Leaving the Army after 15 years was far more difficult than I expected. While there was plenty of support available to stay connected with other veterans, what I really needed was help creating a new life beyond the forces. Julie gave me structure, purpose and direction at a time when I felt completely stuck. Coaching challenged my thinking, held me accountable when I needed it, and helped me shift my focus away from what I'd lost towards what I could build next.

Middle management executive

Coaching with The Marriott Practice has been an incredibly valuable experience for me. I wanted support with building confidence, improving communication, and overcoming imposter syndrome. Julie helped me recognise that I didn’t need to change who I am to become a better leader, but instead learn how to maximise my strengths. I now communicate more effectively with different personality types and feel more confident managing my team. Julie’s supportive and proactive approach made every session meaningful, helping me develop both personally and professionally. I would highly recommend her to others!

Executive

Coaching with Julie has been truly empowering and life changing. What began as an opportunity to develop leadership skills through work quickly became a space for deep reflection, growth, and positive change both professionally and personally. Julie’s unwavering support, thoughtful challenge, and ability to open up new perspectives helped me recognise patterns and habits that were keeping me stuck.

Voluntary sector

After each session with Julie, I came away feeling inspired and equipped with a fresh perspective on navigating workplace challenges and relationships. The coaching provided me with practical tools that I have been able to apply in my day-to-day role, particularly around communication, leadership, and understanding others more effectively. These are skills I will continue to develop and carry with me throughout my career. I would highly recommend coaching to anyone who is ambitious, eager to grow professionally, and committed to supporting and understanding others in the workplace.

Middle leader in voluntary & education sector

One of the biggest lessons I learned was the importance of setting clear boundaries and trusting my own judgement. I now feel more confident having difficult conversations, constructively challenging where needed, and creating a healthier balance both at work and at home. The practical tools, reflective exercises, and supportive approach throughout the process were incredibly valuable. I would absolutely recommend coaching to anyone looking to strengthen their confidence, leadership, and overall work-life balance.
